Description

Flameroot translates one of the defining botanical elements from Penn Cole’s Kindred’s Curse Saga into a sculptural bag charm. Created as part of the officially licensed MELINA BUCHER × Penn Cole collaboration, it represents the flower whose powder sets the story in motion.

The flower is constructed from two contrasting vegan materials. Deep red petals in vegan leather frame a vivid orange centre and soft elements crafted from INNOVERA™ vegan suede.

Layered and shaped by hand, the individual components give the flower its dimensional form. The contrast between smooth vegan leather and the suede-like surface of INNOVERA™ emphasises the different structures within the design.

Finished with a metal clasp, Flameroot can be attached to a handbag, key ring or strap. A pivotal object from the story becomes a small, tactile piece designed to travel beyond the page.

Handmade in our German atelier, Flameroot combines officially licensed storytelling, material contrast and traditional bag-making craftsmanship.

Design inspired by The Kindred's Curse Saga and officially licensed by the author, Penn Cole.

How durable is Flameroot?

Our items are designed to last for years. Every material undergoes rigorous abrasion, flexing, and UV-resistance testing that meets or exceeds standards applied to traditional leather goods. Every piece is handcrafted with reinforced seams, edge finishing, and quality hardware.

How do I care for Flameroot?

INNOVERA™: Brush gently with a soft, dry cloth or suede brush. Avoid water and wet cleaning. Store in the included dust bag.

Can I return my order?

We offer 30-day free returns on all orders. Return shipping within the EU is free. Refunds are processed within 5 to 10 business days.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship worldwide from our atelier in Germany. Shipping within Germany is always free. To the EU, the UK and Switzerland, shipping is free from €150 (otherwise €20) and takes 2 to 3 business days. To the US, Canada and all other countries, standard shipping is €20 and takes 3 to 5 business days. For the US, duties and import taxes are calculated at checkout and prepaid, so there are no extra fees on delivery. Express shipping can be selected at checkout.

What makes Melina Bucher different?

Most vegan leather on the market is PU- or PVC-based plastic. We refuse both. Our materials are bio-based to the greatest extent possible, some even 100 % plastic-free. Recognised by the German Sustainability Award, the German Design Award, and PETA.

Is your packaging sustainable?

Our packaging is 100 % plastic-free and vegan. Each bag ships in a reusable dust bag made from organic cotton, inside a recycled and recyclable box.
